Covid19

Supporting our local community

During Covid-19

We have limited stock of the ethanol 96%, glycerol 98% and hydrogen peroxide 3% needed and a limited stock of bottles. 137 Gin are providing labour elements for production on a voluntary basis so there will be no costs taken from this.

The aim is to provide local services free of charge. Any remaining would be offered to the community at cost, and any funds raised will be used to buy materials for continued production of this product or in the case that national hand-sanitizer production catches up with demand, all of the additional funds will be split donated to charity.

With hand-sanitizer now in short supply for local emergency services, care-homes, GPs/hospitals, and other vital services, 137 Gin are now producing WHO-approved hand-sanitizer for the local community.

Can you help?

We're so very proud to say we’ve now distributed our first batch within the community.

From the Fairclose Centre meals on wheel service, Adult Social Care at West Berkshire Council and care homes like Walnut Close in Thatcham and Willows Edge and Birchwood in Newbury. News is travelling fast so we’re building a database to manage the requests.

If you are in a position to assist us with covering the costs of materials for the ongoing production, please head over to our donations page.  Quite honestly, we have been blown away by the local support and generosity we have received so far.

Stay safe and a big thank you to all of you!

Gratitude

  • Carolyn. NHS Berkshire West CCG Thank you so much Debbie and Pete for responding to my request and delivering the much needed sanitiser to our 10 Newbury based practices and the Hot Hub, we cannot thank you enough. You are doing an amazing job! X
  • Amanda Mansfield. Carepride Thank you. We received our hand sanitiser yesterday and can not thank you enough for the support you are giving keyworkers. The Carepride team thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the supplies 💙💜
  • Chris. Berkshire Search & Rescue Thank you for your very generous donation of 50 bottles of hand sanitizer. This will help us stay safe when we conduct searches for high risk vulnerable persons on behalf of Thames Valley Police across Berkshire and the surrounding counties.
  • Newbury Soup Kitchen We would like to thank everybody at 137 Gin for supporting Newbury Soup Kitchen and some of the local charities. Without people like you Pete, we can't continue to do what we do safely. This is going to make a big difference to our volunteers for peace of mind and the safety of our clients who are rough sleepers. Thank you.
  • President of WB Mencap Today I collected 70 hand sanitizers with 3 x 5 litre refill canisters. A huge thank you to the amazing Pete who has said that he will also meet our sanitizer needs going forward.
  • West Berks Community Baby Bank It was the greatest gift ❤️ so appreciated by volunteers and professionals having to drop off essentials at this time, with some bottles too going to new parents. You are amazing.
